So today I turned 20. (When did I get that old....?)
I had to get up and go to work at 6:30am, the usual serving college kids breakfast...
Then off to Deutsch klasse once I got off of work at 9:45. We watched part of
Gegen die Wand It is kind of weird...
Back to my room, which I now share with ~
shadwelldrama and she gave me my birthday present
Onto women and gender studies, where we watched
The Education of Shelby Knox a documentary about a girl fighting for sex ed in her conservative Texas town of Lubboch. (i think that was how it is spelled..) It was kind of funny, and the people in my class (they are mostly from Oregon, so liberal semi-hippie type) were amazed at the southern baptists.... It reminded me a lot of Fallston, and how anti-gay they are...
I met ~
shadwelldrama at the EMU, no it isn't pronounced like the bird. And once she had to go to class, I went back to our room, and didn't do much before I went off to photography. ON my way there, I pulled the left hand brake on our bike, and a spider (a nice sized one too) dangles off of the handle. I go -> OMG SPIDER!!! because for some reason I am totally afeared of them now... (i think that is my dad's fault, cause he brought home pictures of a brown recluse and of some man who let his spider bite fester for days and took pictures of it-gross!) I stopped the bike and tried to find a stick to let mr. spider off on the ground. But no, he climbed up >into< the brake. So, he staid there and I rode one handed to class.
In class we watched some slides, and talked about the test we are having on Wednesday. Then I developed three rolls of film, and while I was taking the last set of negatives off of the reel to put them in the dryer, my Mom called to wish me happy birthday. Afterwards, I left the photo studio. Mr. Spider was still IN the hand break. I checked. SO I rode back one handed. I was walking the bike through the building I was supposed to meet ~
shadwelldrama in and Mr. spider started crawling over the handle bars, and ended up falling off. (inside the building, oh well.) I don't think I stepped on him, but I wasn't paying attention to that.
I had dinner and now I am going to go take a shower.
